The Ay Nik Stags RFC are located on the eastern mediterranean island of Cyprus, close to the City of Famagusta (See Map Below). The Stags RFC was originally setup in 1947 by British Military Personnel serving on the Island and has been going strong ever since.

The club has facilities which include 2 grass rugby pitches, a rarity on Cyprus, as well as a recently completeley refurbished and airconditioned clubhouse. The clubhouse has extensive bar facilities with a wide range of alchoholic and non-alchoholic beverages including draught Caffrey's and Carling Black Label all the way from the U.K. and this facility is available for hire

The Unit side as well as teams representing 9 Signals Regiment (Army) and 33 SU (RAF) have played a great deal of rugby both on and off the Island of Cyprus. Most of the matches played have traditionally been between the other British and UN bases on island as well as three on island competitions the Episkopi 7s, our own Ay Nik 15s and the increasingly popular Akrotiri International Floodlit 10s. We have however recently witnessed the rise of Cyprus Rugby with first the Pafos Tigers entering the Joint Service League and now for the first time in 2004/2005 both Limassol (Crusaders) and Nicosia (Baa Baa's) have entered teams to give the League a much more balanced appearance. Whilst all the rugby here is fiercely competitive, equal effort is placed on the social life within the Club which regularly sees good Social events being organised .
